When To Use A Comma

He Is Risen...

...He is risen indeed!

Good afternoon,

Today, as well as other bits and pieces...

...we began some Ressurection art, inspired by the displays in the office.

...which we will continue over the next few days.

Holy Thursday

Good afternoon,

And a lovely afternoon it has turned out to be too.

As well as a touch of reading...

(sorry for the background noise...I may need a boom operator to get the mic closer...)

...we also enjoyed a excellent wee Easter Liturgy in the hall.

Well done one and all.

Have a blessed and holy weekend.

Fairly Normal Wednesday

Good afternoon,

Not a great deal to report really. We Math'd, Ran, Wrote (briefly...someone got a little carried away with teaching how to embed their writing into a blog post...), Read, and R.E.'d.

Please join us for our Easter Liturgy tomorrow afternoon in the hall. Starting @ 2:15.

Rawa Wera Ratu (Very Hot Tuesday)

Ahiahi mārie (Good afternoon),

And what an afternoon it is. Very wera (hot). Which may have been mistakenly expressed as wera nui (big hot?). Opps!

Ah well, 'twas glorious anyhow.

A great day for some reading inside (with air conditioning)...

...and for hockey outside.

And a good time was had by all.

Oh, and we finished that Holy Week activity...

We caluclated the days based on the recognition that the Greek word translated as "sabbath" in Matthew 28:1 σαββατων is actually "sabbaths", that Passover (an annual "special" sabbath day - on the 14th of Nissan each year) was on the Friday (followed by the weekly sabbath day, Saturday), so Jesus must have been crucified on the Thursday. That also fits the "he rose again on the third day" of scripture (1 Corinthians 15:3). He died Thursday, rose again on the third day after his death - Friday, Saturday...the early hours of Sunday morning.

No Photos Monday

Good evening,

And a lovely evening it is too.

No photos this fine day, however we still some evidence of work...

...and we started looking at scripture to identify the events of Holy Week.

...which we will continue tomorrow.

Speaking of tomorrow, we're hoping to have one more hockey session...although there is a touch of confusion over that, so...your children may or may not come home in their sports gear.

Thursday's Transfiguration

Good afternoon,

Today, after a touch of writing...

...we learnt about the Transfiguration...

...and travelled all the way to Israel to film it!

Wednesday 16 March 2016

Kakariki's Reading...

...well, sort of...

Good afternoon,

This morning on of our reading groups read a journal story about, well, automatic shoes. Not too dissimilar to these...

And chaos ensues!

A Bit of a Catch Up Post

Good evening,

Just to prove that we were here at some point last week...

...or at least, the Choir was on Friday!

As for yesterday, we started with some Team Time...

...a touch of Fitness...

...and some R.E. - on paper, no less!

Someone had cut a cable...

As for today, since Mrs Campbell was out with a good number of children Zones, swimming, we had some Room 7 children organise a bit of fitness for us. Dodge ball, no less.

...and then a spot of reading.

After lunch, and our Hockey lesson, Room 3 practiced some typing skills...

...before continuing listing what we know of Jesus' Birth, Life, Death and Resurrection.

:-)

Batten Team Camp 2016 Day +1. Thank You.

Good afternoon,

Today in the Batten Team things were pretty laid back...right up until the time when three quarters of the camp photos that the children were sorting through on Google Drive went missing!

Ah well.

We did get some thank you cards completed. Which is nice.

Speaking of photos, if anyone's got any from camp, please send them to school (via email, or on a flashdrive/memory stick). We'd love to have them.

Thanks.

Batten Team Camp 2016 Day 3. Good Morning.

Good morning,

Well, that was a much better night's sleep. Much better indeed.

So, after a hearty breakfast...

....we're all ready to go!

See you in a few hours.
